Mirfield HQ & factory opening

Connection announce move to new £8m state of the art head office & production facility.

In a planned strategy to capitalise upon unprecedented recent growth in sales, Huddersfield-based British furniture manufacturer Connection are moving to a brand-new purpose-built state of the art building, which will encompass a Head office, Showroom and Manufacturing facility under one roof.

Connection have been based at their Dogley Mills home in Huddersfield since their founding in 1997 but after 25 years at the facility required a substantially larger space with the intent to double both manufacturing capacity and turnover.

Located in Mirfield, Huddersfield, the new 45,000 sq ft facility, will house a state-of-the-art design and upholstery facility as well as an advanced manufacturing line.

“We have a highly skilled workforce and we wanted to ensure we retained that talent and knowledge, so it was important for us to stay within the Kirklees region to harness that talent, create new jobs and continue our portfolio expansion plans.

The new facility will allow us the opportunity to furnish our production space with a new suite of equipment, allowing us to further boost capacity across manufacturing lines. We will upgrade to state-of-the-art bar-coding systems and introduce further efficiencies in the packaging stages of production with a big emphasis on the environment and reducing cardboard waste”

The new facility will give Connection the capacity to meet the increasing demand coming from both the UK markets and global export, particularly a recent swell in interest from Europe and the Middle East.
