Beginning their journey in a garden shed, Softcat’s new space was inspired by this unconventional start. Claremont crafted a bold and imaginative design response, that celebrates Softcat’s unique origins while embracing their dynamic future.
Relocating just 400 metres down the round to Birmingham’s newly refurbished Billiards Building, Claremont were tasked with creating an immersive, collaborative, brand-led destination office to help this vibrantly successful FTSE 250 business stay on track for rapid growth.
Sparking a quirky design response, taking inspiration from Softcat’s beginnings in the garden shed, whilst keeping in mind the company’s digital future. The brief required sustainable design, strong brand storytelling, flexibility and choice, and a fully accessible and inclusive workspace.
Achieving a fully accessible and inclusive workspace by designing wider walkways, accessible meeting rooms and including accessible furniture. Connection Tryst accessible booths allow wheelchair users to sit comfortably at a meeting desk, alongside colleagues. Other Connection products featured include Paulo armchairs and Swoosh stools. Each Connection product was specified in Softcats’s brand’s colours, ensuring strong brand storytelling throughout the space – Claremont nailed the brief!
