Softcat, a vibrant and growing business, began its journey in a humble garden shed. This unconventional start served as the inspiration for Claremont’s design of their new office space.
Following their relocation to Birmingham’s refurbished Billiards Building, Claremont aimed to create an immersive and collaborative environment that reflected its unique origins while looking toward a dynamic future.
Claremont developed a brand-led destination office that fosters collaboration and supports Softcat’s growth aspirations. The goal was to create an engaging workplace that highlights the company’s story while embracing modern design principles. The design response was both bold and imaginative, seamlessly merging Softcat’s past with its ambitious future.
The workspace was designed with wider walkways and accessible meeting rooms. Furniture was selected to ensure inclusivity, featuring accessible options like Connection Tryst booths, which accommodate wheelchair users.
Furniture, including Paulo armchairs and Swoosh stools, was specified in Softcat’s brand colours, reinforcing the company’s identity throughout the space.
Claremont successfully delivered an office that not only meets the functional needs of Softcat but also embodies its culture and values. The immersive environment promotes collaboration and creativity, supporting the company’s ongoing growth trajectory. By merging Softcat’s unique origins with a forward-thinking design, Claremont has created a workspace that inspires employees and enhances the overall workplace experience. This project exemplifies how thoughtful design can transform a business’s environment while staying true to its roots.
