The challenge lay in designing a modern environment that celebrated the building’s architectural heritage while maximising natural light, supporting sustainability, and encouraging collaboration across teams.
Spectris envisioned a workplace that would foster flexibility, wellbeing, and connectivity. The design needed to balance contemporary functionality with timeless character, blending historic architectural details with fresh, forward-thinking design solutions that reflect the company’s innovative culture.
The resulting space is bright, open, and versatile, offering employees multiple ways to meet, focus, and socialise. Carefully planned zones support a range of working styles, from focused individual tasks to relaxed group collaboration.
A key highlight is the communal tea area, designed to act as the social heart of the office. Here, Connection’s Canova chairs and Centro stools and benches play a central role in creating an inviting and flexible hub where colleagues can connect throughout the day.
