Ascentis wanted an interactive, hybrid workspace which inspired their staff. The result was a vibrant and collaborative workspace which supported flexible, modern working practices whilst retaining a sense of fun and freedom.
Cambridge Judge Business School
Designed by award-winning architects Stanton Williams, the new Simon Sainsbury Centre at the Cambridge Judge Business School is now open to students.
This replaces the old school in the Grade II listed Old Adenbrooke’s Hospital site which, although exuding character and charm no longer offered sufficient space for future needs.
Portsdown specified Connection furniture to reflect the needs of students and staff alike and to emphasise Cambridge Judge Business School’s place as the place for management teaching and research.
Swoosh meeting chairs were used within the office and boardroom areas providing comfortable areas for discussion and engagement.
Swoosh high stools coupled with Centro poseur tables, created agile meeting and touchdown spots while Tryst, in both sofa and U-Shape configurations and a scattering of Centro stools, helped to create a more relaxed and calming space.

This new building is designed to be sympathetic to the culture and history of Cambridge and its buildings both recognising the changing requirements in learning environments and bringing faculty, staff and students together in one location to support future growth and efficiency. The new building provides additional teaching, office, breakout and dining areas for the school.
Tryst booths were also situated within the office to provide quieter places for focus, brainstorming and semi-private meetings offering visual privacy without students or staff feeling isolated – essential in any creative environment.
